Supported Day Services

Our specialist support services include day programmes for school leavers and young adults who are autistic or have other additional support needs (ASN) in Edinburgh, Musselburgh and the surrounding areas.

Our day service programmes provide autistic school leavers and young adults, and those with other additional support needs (ASN), with the skills, confidence, and experiences necessary to lead independent and fulfilling lives, supporting them towards their positive destinations.

Full & Part Time Specialist Supported Programmes

  • Day services for young adults who are autistic or have other additional support needs

    Transitions Programme

    A full-time, specialist-supported day programme for School Leavers (16 -19 years old) who are autistic or have other ASN and who need a more holistic, vocational approach to support their transition to adulthood.

  • Autism day services for young adults from Edge Group Scotland

    Life Programme

    A part-time supported day service for young adults (20 - 30 years old) who are autistic or have other ASN that delivers opportunities to develop real-life independence while supporting them to mature in the world around them.

Supported Day Services For Autistic & ASN Young Adults

We offer a comprehensive range of activities, focusing on employability, supported volunteering, independent travel training, healthy cooking, and outdoor sports, all aimed at helping participants reach their positive destinations. Each programme is meticulously planned and delivered by a team of dedicated professionals who are passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of our participants and guiding them on their pathway to independence.

Person-Centered Planning - PATH & MAPs

Each young adult embarks upon an individualised supported pathway, in a peer-group setting, focusing on independence in whatever way is suitable for them, driven by PATH and MAPS frameworks which define the pathways for each participant and supports them on their journey towards their positive destinations. Our day services incorporate a combination of outdoor sports and activities, employability, social skills, cooking, volunteering, travel training and independent living skills.

We provide tailored workshops and one-on-one coaching to enhance job readiness, including CV writing, interview preparation, and workplace communication, with the goal of achieving positive employment outcomes.

Participants have the opportunity to engage in meaningful volunteer work in a variety of industries, with ongoing support to ensure they gain valuable work experience and contribute to the local community.

Taking part in outdoor sports and activities in supported, safe, environments lets our young adults achieve great things.

Being outdoors, working as a team and connecting with nature ensures the focus is on individuals’ well-being including self-esteem, resilience, confidence, social trust, positive functioning and friendships.

Independent Travel Training

Edge Group Scotland Independent Travel Training for Independence

The programmes focus on building confidence to overcome challenges and prepare for independence and adulthood.

Using practical training and real-life scenarios to help young adults navigate public transportation safely and independently, empowering them to travel with confidence and reducing reliance on others, thus fostering greater independence and opening doors to positive opportunities.

Healthy Cooking

Edge Group Scotland Autism Day Services Healthy Cooking for Independence

Build confidence in cooking from scratch and cooking independently. Get to grips with food hygiene and safety as well as learn the skills to plan meals and buy ingredients on a limited budget.

Learn essential food preparation and kitchen skills to gain an understanding of ingredient alternatives that support healthier choices and make recipes work for their own tastes, fostering a positive relationship with food.

Wellbeing Outcomes

This approach allows us to create tangible actions which enable us to monitor, and measure the progress of each individual. Regularly reviewing participants’ outcomes and progress against wellbeing indicators is an integral component of our day service programmes, ensuring that everyone is supported on their journey towards positive outcomes.
