Ready, Steady, Cook!
A Retro Culinary Adventure
Last week, our Life Programme teams took part in a unique and exciting cooking challenge. Inspired by the popular TV show "Ready, Steady, Cook," participants were tasked with creating delicious meals using a bag of surprise ingredients with Edgeβs take on the 90βs BBC Classic!
Armed with aprons, enthusiasm, and a sprinkle of creativity, the groups dived headfirst into the challenge. Each chef received a mystery bag filled with unexpected ingredients, ranging from meats and tinned goods to unusual vegetables. To add to the excitement, they were also provided with a selection of store cupboard essentials.
Go!
With the clock ticking, the chefs started to plan their menus, measure ingredients, and follow recipes with the guidance of our experienced support staff. The kitchen buzzed with activity as they chopped, stirred, and seasoned their dishes.
Impressive Results
The results were truly impressive! From savoury curries to sensational side dishes, the Life Programme crew created a variety of mouth-watering meals. They not only honed their cooking skills but also employed important life skills such as problem-solving and time management.
Beyond the culinary experience, the change of format to the usual cooking session provided a fantastic opportunity for social interaction and lots of fun. The team shared their creations and celebrated their culinary achievements.

The creations included, but were not limited to;
Lentil and chicken Goan curry
